Create a table

Create a table, add columns and rows, and save another view of the same records.

Tables and forms

A table stores records as rows, with fields shown as columns. Use it for a list or tracker that needs more structure than plain text.

Before you start

You need the workspace member, admin, or owner role to create this item. To create it inside a folder, open the folder and use its New resource button; you need Can edit or Full access on that folder. To edit an existing item, you need Can edit or Full access on it.

Create the table

  1. In the sidebar, select New resource, the plus beside Workspace.
  2. Choose Work, then Tables. Zanbase creates an untitled table and opens it.
  3. Select the title and type the table’s name.

Add a field

  1. Select Add column.
  2. Enter the field’s Name.
  3. Choose its Type.
  4. Select Add column in the field editor.

Add records

  1. Select New row, the plus button at the bottom of the spreadsheet.
  2. Enter a value in the Name cell of the new row.

Fill the other cells with the values your record needs. Repeat New row for each record.

Add a view

  1. Select New view, the plus button beside the view tabs.
  2. Choose a layout from the menu. Zanbase adds the view and opens it, with its name ready to edit.
  3. Type a name for the view and press Enter.

Good to know

The layout choices are Table, List, Gallery, Board, Calendar, Gantt, and Chart. Views show the same records through different layouts. A view’s layout is fixed after creation; add another view to use another layout.

Use Build a form when you want people to submit answers.
