Start or join a call

Create a meeting, join its call, or start a huddle from a channel or direct message.

Meetings and recordings

Use a meeting for a call with its own workspace page. A huddle is a call you open from a channel or direct message.

Before you start

To join, you need an active workspace membership, including a guest membership, and access to the meeting or conversation through your own permissions. A public link alone does not let you join. Creating a meeting requires the workspace member, admin, or owner role; to create it inside a folder, open the folder and use its New resource button, which requires Can edit or Full access on that folder. Allow microphone and camera access if you want to use them.

Create a meeting

  1. In the sidebar, select New resource, the plus beside Workspace.
  2. Choose Communication, then Meetings. Zanbase creates an untitled meeting and opens it.
  3. Select the title and type the meeting’s name.

Join the meeting call

  1. Set Mic on or Mic off in the meeting lobby.
  2. Set Camera on or Camera off.
  3. Select Join call. If people are already in the call, the button also shows their count.
  4. Select Captions during the call if you want to see live captions.
  5. Select Leave when you want to disconnect.

Start or join a huddle

  1. Open the channel or direct message by its name.
  2. Select Huddle to open its call window.
  3. Select Leave in the call window when you finish.

For an audio call, open More call options beside Huddle and choose Voice call.

Good to know

A huddle opens in a separate window, so you can navigate the workspace while it stays open. Closing that window leaves the huddle. Live captions are not a saved transcript; to keep a transcript, record a meeting and request transcription.
