Plan a project

Create a project and add tasks with assignees, dates, priorities, and parent tasks.

Projects

A project groups tasks that belong to the same piece of work. Give each task a title, status, assignee, and due date so you can track the work.

Before you start

You need the workspace member, admin, or owner role to create this item. To create it inside a folder, open the folder and use its New resource button; you need Can edit or Full access on that folder. To add or edit tasks, you need Can edit or Full access on the project.

Create the project

  1. In the sidebar, select New resource, the plus beside Workspace.
  2. Choose Work, then Projects. Zanbase creates an untitled project and opens it.
  3. Select the title and type the project’s name.

Each task gets a key made of a prefix and a number, TASK by default. To change the prefix, open the menu beside the project’s title, choose Details, and edit Issue key prefix, such as ENG.

Add a task

  1. Select New task.
  2. Enter a Title.
  3. Choose a Status.
  4. Choose an Assignee.
  5. Choose a Due date.
  6. Choose a Priority.
  7. Select Create task.

You can also fill in Description, Start date, and Estimate before creating the task.

Add a subtask

  1. Select New task.
  2. Enter a Title for the smaller piece of work.
  3. Choose its parent in Parent task.
  4. Select Create task.

What happens next

The task belongs to the selected Project. Its Parent task, when set, belongs to that same project. Open an existing task to change its fields, then select Save.

A new project includes Board and Table views. See Choose project views to add other layouts.
